Jay Cutler believes two major competitors should skip the 2025 Arnold Classic to make improvements.

The 2024 Olympia is officially in the books and this means sights have shifted to the 2025 Arnold Classic. This will be the first major competition after a short hiatus for competitors. The increase in prize money has persuaded some top athletes to compete in Columbus and that will continue once again.

While it is beneficial for some to take the stage after a quick turnaround, it might not be for some. Jay Cutler spoke about the competition and believes Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan should skip the show.

The Arnold Classic will hold a $500,000 purse and this has certainly upped the interest in taking the stage. This began last year when Samson Dauda entered and went head-to-head with Choopan. He came up just short but bounced back with a victory on the Olympia stage. Recently, Dauda confirmed that he will compete at the Arnold once again and called for Lunsford and Choopan to join him.

“The Arnold is paying big money. $500k, a $500,000 purse so of course these guys are like ‘okay, I’m turning around and doing it.’ Samson is doing it. Andrew Jacked is doing it.”

After watching the performances from the Olympia, Cutler talked about the competition in March.

Jay Cutler Says Derek Lunsford, Hadi Choopan Should Not Compete

Jay Cutler watched the Olympia and formed his own opinions on how competitors should handle the next few months. In regards to Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan, Cutler believes it will benefit them to skip.

“I don’t think Hadi and Derek necessarily would do it. I wouldn’t suggest that they would do it because Derek, he had issues with his legs. His leg size was down. He needs to get his legs fuller. He tried to come in Hadi condition and it affected him.”

Andrew Jacked has also confirmed he will take the stage in Columbus come March. He will go head-to-head with Dauda and Cutler believes this will be the matchup to watch. Jacked will continue to work with Chris Aceto and make improvements for the show.

“We’ll be talking about that for the next few months. Who’s the frontrunner for that and right now, that’s Samson. I think Andrew, I think Chris Aceto is working to rectify Andrew now and I think we’ll see a difference Andrew Jacked up there.”
