Jesse James West Pranks Eddie Hall By Hitting Huge Lifts With Fake Weights

Eddie Hall Prank

Jesse James West pranked Eddie Hall during a recent workout session.

Jesse James West is a fitness star that has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry. This includes pulling pranks using fake weights on the likes of Ronnie Coleman and Larry Wheels. On Thursday, West shared a video to his YouTube page pulling the same prank on legendary strongman Eddie Hall.

If there is someone who knows about heavy weight, it is Hall. He is a former World’s Strongest Man winner who set a world record, at the time, with a 500kg (1,102lb) deadlift. In the video, West would perform the three main lifts hoping to hit a new personal record. The catch — he would work in some fake weights.

At the beginning of the video, Hall even mentioned the possibility of a prank.

“These are real weights now? No trickery with me, like you did with Ronnie Coleman?”

West hired actors to play the part of gym goers that would act as his spotters and help putting plates on and off.

The purpose of the prank was to get Eddie Hall to believe that Jesse James West was hitting massive PRs on the three major lifts — squats, bench press, and deadlift.

Squats

The workout session began with West hitting the squat rack while Hall watch on. West completed four sets, adding a plate on each side until he hit 315 pounds. This was all done legitimately. West then kept 315 pounds on the bar and added 90 pounds of fake weight.

This is when he went for a Pr of 455 pounds, with 365 actually on the bar.

“Was that seriously a PR?”

After a successful lift, Hall called for more weight but West would actually take some off. His final squat appeared to be 495 pounds but had 315 on the bar.

Bench Press

Before hitting the bench, Jesse James West shared that he hit a PR of 337 pounds a few months ago. This time, he was going for four plates.

“Jesse’s doing phenomenal. If he gets this bench, 405, I’ll be very, very impressed. I think he’s going to get it.”

The actual lifts with no fake weight ended when he hit 225 pounds. West would then give off the illusion that he lifted 315, 365, and 405 — which was his goal shared with Hall.

Deadlift

On the final lift, West attempted to fake out a man who became the first person ever to deadlift 500kg. And he was bale to do it.

West used a sumo stance since this is the one he is strongest in. West did not waste time throwing on fake plates here as his first set of 135 was the only one done legitimately. West would add a plate on each side until he reached 675 pounds.

Before the final set, the two place a $100 bet to see if West would accomplish his goal of seven plates. After this lift, West shared the news of the prank with Hall and the two were able to joke about it after.

Jesse James West continues to build a huge following because of his ripped physique and overall personality in the gym. It turns out that Eddie Hall was next on his list to prank. Will anyone else fall for his fake weight park moving forward?!
