Fitzwater brought the best package of his career to the 2024 Olympia and made a jump into the top four. He was able to leap many competitors and contend for the overall title. Fitzwater officially punched his ticket to the 2025 competition after defeating the likes of Chris Bumstead and Shaun Clarida at the EVLS Prague Pro.
“Almost 269. Not too bad man. I’m happy with it.”
Fitzwater and his coach Stefan Kienzl joined Fouad Abiad to discuss this matchup and what it will take to defeat Walker.
Martin Fitzwater Talks Rematch With Nick Walker
Fitzwater took the stage with Nick Walker during the 2024 New York Pro. Walker was crowned champion but there was plenty of controversy as many around the bodybuilding world believe Fitzwater brought the better package to the stage. Now, they will get the chance to battle once again.
Fitzwater has worked on adding more muscle than he had in New York, where he knows Walker was far heavier.
“I know Nick was about 20 pounds heavier on stage than me in New York. That puts it in perspective. There’s obviously more muscle there but how much of that is in the waist versus in the actual muscle bellies?”
Fitzwater praised Walker’s arms and claims that they might be the best in the world. This is an area where he wants to improve moving forward.
“There’s no question his arms absolutely destroy mine. My arms are still my shi*tiest body part and that’s his best body part. In my opinion, he might have the best arms in the IFBB.”
Martin Fitzwater shared that he is currently 269 pounds and is continuing to work on adding size. This is the most comfortable he’s been with his physique at this size and believes he can compete with anyone after his finish at the Olympia.
“I think I can stand with anybody now, it’s just a matter of who is best on that day.
This is the best I’ve ever looked at this weight. I’ve only been at this weight one time before. I have some striations in my quads but my butt is a little chunky.”
