Classic Physique bodybuilder Wesley Vissers is preparing to make his return to the stage during the 2026 Arnold Classic. He is part of a loaded group in Classic this year and wants to see how he compares against the best in the world. Vissers recently shared his top-five picks for the competition.

Vissers pulled off an upset, defeating Ramon Dino at the 2024 Arnold Classic, which was considered a major upset at the time, but fell down the scorecard at the Olympia. Vissers returned to Columbus to defend his Arnold title but ended up placing fifth. Now, he is looking to improve upon his position in March.

Wesley Vissers Classic Physique Picks
Vissers made his prediction for the top five competitors but did not share placings:
- Mike Sommerfeld
- Andrea Mammoli
- Sam Sulek
- Matheus Menegate
- Wesley Vissers
Mike Sommerfeld
Mike Sommerfeld has become one of the names to beat in Classic Physique. He has finished as the runner-up in each of the last two Olympia competitions and is the reigning Arnold champion. Vissers explained that he is excited to take the stage with Sommerfeld once again.
“Mike is the clear favorite. I really want to battle him again…How easy is it going to be for Mike to win? Will it be extremely easy or will it be a little more difficult? I’m, of course, aiming to make it more difficult.”
Andrea Mammoli
Vissers was impressed with Mammoli at the Olympia and believes that he has the potential to make a jump in Columbus.
“I watched the prejudging and I saw how good he was but unfortunately, we didn’t see how he was doing in comparisons because he didn’t hear his name. I think he would have been in the top 10 at least, if he was in that callout.”
Sam Sulek
Sam Sulek has been one of the biggest fitness stars on the planet for years now. He has become an IFBB pro and is preparing to make his pro debut at the Arnold Classic. Wesley Vissers believes Sulek could be successful right away by the looks of his recent updates.
“He looks very impressive in his updates…There might be a slight concern, he’s very in shape at the moment. I would say at his current shape, he’s like at four weeks out. I would also believe he’s on track but we’re about nine weeks out right now.”
Matheus Menegate
Matheus Menegate finished seventh at the Olympia. This is a chance for him to make a big jump on a big stage.
“Someone like this, he is almost as tall as me with a frame that’s kind of similar. Who knows? That kind of shape they might want to see at the Arnold so he could jump up there.”
Wesley Vissers
Wesley Vissers went onto discuss his own goals as a former Arnold champion making his return following a break in competition. The first callout was described as “mandatory” when entering the competition.
“The top callout is not only my goal, it’s my mandatory thing that needs to happen. What my dream would be, to be in a callout with Mike, Menegate, and Andrea probably.”
