William Bonac Completes Blood Work Before Arnold Classic: “There’s Nothing Wrong With My Kidneys”

Olympia Physique Update

William Bonac denies kidney issues heading into the 2023 Arnold Classic.

William Bonac knows a thing or two about success on the Arnold Classic stage. He is preparing to compete in Columbus in just two weeks and recent gave an update on his prep for the show. Bonac reveals that he had blood work done and said that his kidneys are doing well.

Bonac, a two-time champion at the Arnold, has dealt with different issues over the past two years. He finished as the runner-up to Brandon Curry during last year’s competition and will face another stacked lineup this year. Nick Walker and Big Ramy decided to enter the competition once the prize purse was raised to $300,000.

During a recent appearance on the IFBB AMA podcast, Bonac discuss the state of his prep, along with the rumors about his kidney issues.

William Bonac: “I Did My Blood Work”

Earlier in the month, William Bonac shared that he was not taking oral steroids in order to protect his kidneys. From that moment on, others began speculating and Bonac addressed rumors that might have been blown out of proportion a bit.

“There’s nothing wrong with my kidneys. I did my blood work. I was the first to do my blood work and everything was alright to my own surprise actually because I’ve done off-season since last year after the Arnold Classic after my operation.”

If Bonac is able to win the Arnold this year, he will join a handful of bodybuilders to collect three titles. His coach Chad Nicholls advised against competing in Columbus but Bonac wanted to take the stage because of his uncertainly that he can win an Olympia.

“I talked to Chad because I wanted to do the Arnold Classic and he advised me not to do it and clean yourself out. Then, when it’s closer to the Olympia, let’s find a show and you can go straight into the Olympia. That was the best idea but this is such a big show. I really want to win my third one because I don’t see if I can ever win the Olympia. With the Arnold, I’ve won it before and know I can do it.”

The Arnold Classic is just two weeks away and there is bound to be plenty of excitement. William Bonac knows what it takes to win on stage and is tailoring his competition prep to improve.

“Prep is going very good. I had a talk with my coach earlier and he was really surprised with the way that I look around this time with the weight as well.”
