The 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition is set to take place from May 1-5 in Myrtle Beach, SC. A loaded group of the best Strongmen in the world will gather in one place to see who will take home the most-coveted title in the sport. On Tuesday, the official list of events for both the qualifying and final stage were announced.

Mitchell Hooper returns to the WSM to defend his title from last year. Hooper has been at the top of Strongman for two years now. He has logged back-to-back Arnold Strongman titles as well. Challenging Hooper will be the likes of Tom Stoltman, who is a two-time champ, and 2020 WSM winner Oleksii Novikov.

Recently, Martins Licis and Mateusz Kieliszkowski announced that they would not be competing in this year’s competition due to specific injuries. There will be replacements for the two Strongmen included at a later date.

Final Stage Events

The final stage of the competition will feature six more events where the Top 10 athletes will compete to see who will take home the championship.

The list is headlined by a Strongman classic — the Atlas Stones. Competitors will be asked to lift stones of different weights onto platforms in the fastest time possible. The Keg Toss is another classic that will return to the WSM, where competitors will toss kegs of different weights over a high bar.

The World’s Strongest Man is the biggest even in the sport over the course of the year. It is meant to push athletes to their limits all week and test strength in many ways. Competitors will have the chance to show off both their mental and physical strength during the event.

The full list of events has been shared and now the list of Strongmen know the gauntlet standing in front of them.
