Top Bodybuilders Slam Lee Priest On Social Media

Online criticism continues to pile up against Lee Priest.

Lee Priest has long been a controversial figure in the bodybuilding world due to his outspoken opinions that often catch wind on social media. He is blunt and to the point about anyone and anything. Including going on the record with his dislike for Generation Iron in the past despite eventually becoming involved in Lee Priest Vs Bodybuilding – a Generation Iron produced documentary chronicling his bodybuilding career.

Now it seems Lee Priest’s online comments are starting to add up – as many of the top bodybuilders in the industry have gone on record to criticize his statements on various occasions. The overall trend appears to be that Lee Priest’s blunt persona is all bark and no bite.

And leading the charge is 7x Mr. Olympia champion Phil Heath who has made many statements in the past slamming Lee Priest for his online comments:

“Lee just like I said on my Twitter bro knock this off as you always say dumb sh*t but when in person you’re quiet as a damn church mouse.”

This was from a direct comment on Instagram in response to Lee Priest criticizing Phil Heath for not having enough time for his fans. It was the last major back and forth beef between Phil Heath and Lee Priest just over a year ago. Perhaps Phil had Lee blocked? We don’t know for sure – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg of top bodybuilders piling on criticism of Lee Priest.

Lee Priest’s outspoken behavior has been a defining element of his career and fundamentally lead to the demise of his potential as a pro bodybuilder. He had received many fines and temporary bans due to defamatory comments about the IFBB and eventually was banned for life from competing. Lee believes he was speaking truth to power and was eventually blacklisted by the IFBB and the Mr Olympia promoters – but many in the industry don’t see it that way.

“I think he could have been a much better bodybuilder if he would have stayed true to just following some sort of rules but obviously he didn’t want to do that.” Stated Jay Cutler in our interview about Lee Priest for the film. “I don’t think he was blacklisted. I think he blacklisted himself.”

Kali Muscle had this to say about Lee Priest back in 2016:

“Lee Priest, truthfully, I was really disappointed, because I looked up to him, because he was a rebel in the IFBB, he did what he wanted to do” said Kali Muscle about Priest. “But now he’s going overboard.”

Nathan De Asha has even been involved in some back and forth with the enigmatic and outspoken Australian bodybuilder in a series Instagram comments.

After the release of Lee Priest Vs Bodybuilding, Lee also expressed displeasure with the film despite reviewing and signing off to all elements of the agreement before production. Before green lighting production on the feature documentary, Generation Iron was warned by top IFBB officials not to work with Lee Priest. Ultimately, the film did not perform well due to lack of interest.
