The intense passion and love of bodybuilding in Iran is bubbling over into the mainstream in the form of impressive athletes battling on stage to be the best in the world. Hadi Choopan has been the singular highlight of this rising tide of new athletes – and is featured predominantly in the latest Generation Iron Persia trailer.
This is fitting timing, as Hadi Choopan just made history by becoming the new Mr. Olympia champion after years of battling for his visa to compete in the USA and also his battle against his fellow athletes. Before he was a Mr. Olympia champion. Before he could even get to America to compete on the Mr. Olympia stage – he was a passionate and powerful athlete willing to do anything it took to be the best in the world.
Among other rising stars from Iran, Generation Iron Persia gives an intimate inside look at the earlier years of Hadi Choopan’s pro bodybuilding career. From his rise to fame in international competitions to his emotional struggle to receive a visa and finally compete at the Olympia in 2019 – these key early moments are captured with great detail on film in this new bodybuilding documentary.
Beyond Choopan, other key athletes are featured in Generation Iron Persia including King Kamali, the late Isaac Ghavidel, Abtin Shekarabi, and Maryam Bamdad. All athletes with the same deep passion for bodybuilding and intense willpower to become the best in the world.
