Kalecinski has spoken about his timeline and while he might not win this year, he feels like he is a future Mr. Olympia. 4x champion Jay Cutler feels the exact same way. The two got together for one final leg workout before the show and Cutler shared his thoughts on the future.
“I really, truly think in time that you can win the Mr. Olympia in the Open. Which you couldn’t do in the Classic unfortunately but I think you’re going to be at this division than you were at the Classic division.”
Kalecinski made the move to Men’s Open so he could bring his best physique possible to the stage with no restrictions and that is exactly what he did. Right away, he impressed with a victory in Italy before being crowned champion once again during the Europa Pro Championships.

Jay Cutler Believes Urs Kalecinski is Future Champion
Kalecinski has received mixed reviews about competing in this year’s Olympia, specifically from Shawn Ray, but he has expressed interest in seeing where he stacks up. Jay Cutler continued to give advice on focusing on the big picture rather than the results in year one.
“Whatever position you place, just remember your vision is that end game. I know you want to win it and I know you think you can.”
Before his move to Open, Urs Kalecinski carved out a reputation as one of the top Classic Physique competitors in the world. He won the Tampa Pro in 2021, which led to his first Olympian appearance. Kalecinski secured fourth place in the competition. He followed this with a third-place finish at the Arnold Classic in 2022 behind runner-up Ramon Rocha Queiroz and 2022 winner Terrence Ruffin. He burst into the top three in 2023 and remained there in 2024.
Urs Kalecinski previously stated that he believes he will win the Olympia one day but does not want to get ahead of himself.
“I don’t want to say it’s this year or next year or some bullsh*t like this. I’m not cocky or arrogant at all. I really believe I can make it because now I have a vision in my mind of how I can look now, which I didn’t have in Classic Physique.”
