4-Time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler talked on the potential of Nick Walker this year, along with Derek Lunsford’s commitment.

Jay Cutler has shared many opinions about bodybuilding, both present day and during his prime. The 2024 Olympia is still months away but many are starting to share opinions now that the Arnold Classic is complete. In this post, we will discuss how the four-time Mr. Olympia champion, Cutler, believes Nick Walker can come in and be a force for the Olympia title.

After recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him from the 2023 Olympia, Nick dedicated himself to rigorous gym sessions. While he’s yet to secure a spot in the 2024 Olympia, he revealed plans to return at the 2024 New York Pro. A victory in this event would guarantee his participation in the Olympia.

Walker finished third during the 2022 Olympia, behind Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford. This could be the duo fighting for the title once again but Cutler believes Walker could make his way into the mix.

“Nick Walker is looking really good. I got to see his family. His mom, Tracy, and his father at the event. We have high hopes for him, man. I think he can come in the Olympia and stir it up and possibly win it this year.”

Cutler continued to discuss the training habits of some of the other top competitors.

Derek Lunsford recently opened up about his battle with depression.

Jay Cutler: “Derek Is Staying In Tremendous Shape”

Derek Lunsford reached the top of bodybuilding last year when he was able to defeat Choopan for his first Mr. Olympia title. This offseason, he has shared physique updates and workouts where he looks like he has remained in top shape.

Lunsford is prepared to take the stage during the 2024 Pittsburgh Pro as a guest poser. This is where he initially made his mark as a Men’s Open competitor.

“That’s what’s kind of cool about this Olympia with Hadi coming back the way he did and Derek, you know, just training like a maniac where he is.”

Choopan was unhappy with his second-place finish at the 2023 Olympia and worked to improve right away. He returned for the 2024 Arnold Classic and 2024 Arnold UK and was victorious during both events. Choopan seems to be back on track and Lunsford is working to bring his best as well.

“Derek is staying in tremendous shape and when we see in May, when they guest pose in Pittsburgh, that’s going to build some hype for the Mr. Olympia in October.”

The upcoming Olympia competition will have plenty of hype after the last two years. With Choopan winning Arnold events and Walker returning, there will be plenty of competition for Lunsford.
