Lee Haney believes Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked have physiques for the top two.
Lee Haney has spoken his mind about the current state of bodybuilding. The eight-time Olympia champion has been open about his thoughts on the differences in the sport. Recently, he joined Ron Harris Muscle to discuss the upcoming Olympia competition, highlighting two contenders.
Haney believes that Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked have physiques to finish in the top two at the 2024 Olympia. He also touched on the height of both competitors and how shorter bodybuilders could be put in a separate division.

“You can’t have a Samson and an Andrew not be in that top two, I feel.”
Haney is tied with Ronnie Coleman for the most Olympia wins ever. From 1984-91, Haney was unbeatable in Men’s Open. He was able to defeat other all-time greats such as Frank Zane, Sergio Oliva, and Lee Labrada. Haney believes that the old-school physique was more pleasing to the eye and made others be interested in bodybuilding, including himself and how he got started.
Lee Haney Talks Upcoming 2024 Olympia
Lee Haney has been critical about today’s physiques in bodybuilding. He has a view of what perfection looks like and has highlighted competitors in the past such as Lee Labrada.
“In my opinion and the way I view Excalibur is being the best of the best. To have a physique that’s well pleasing everything is where it’s supposed to be, muscle maturity, great lines, shoulder, waist taper, great balance, a thing of beauty, art engineered with perfection.”

Dauda has finished as high as third at the Olympia and is a former Arnold Classic champion. He is expected to compete for the title once again this season, despite many thinking he is on the second tier behind Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. Jacked is coming off his third straight victory at the Texas Pro and impressed with his physique.
“I see that same sort of thing when I look at Samson and I look at Andrew Jacked. I like the fact that they have size, great muscle size but at the same time, they have a beautiful taper that goes along with it.”
Lee Haney acknowledged the height of Dauda and Andrew Jacked compared to Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. This duo has finished as the top two in each of the last two Olympia competitions.
“When you look at physiques like Hadi’s and you look at Derek, they are in a different category. I wouldn’t mind if there was two different categories. Those guys, with that type of physique is a certain look. They work hard and they should be awarded for their work.”
