Nick Walker: “I Guess Everyone Will See”

The discussion surrounding the Olympia has been focused on the battle between Hadi Choopan and reigning champion Derek Lunsford. Walker has said on multiple occasions that he believes he can beat Lunsford. Naturally, he is confused as to why he is not being taken seriously as a top competitor.

“I guess being eight weeks out, one thing I find funny is it seems to be, I am counted out in everybody’s prediction. I’m not in the top five or I’m going to fifth place and I get it. I didn’t do the Olympia last year so y’all don’t know how it was going to stack up.”

Walker knows that his performance at the NY Pro was not his best but he was still able to come away with a victory. This has also provided extra motivation heading into the biggest show of the year.

“My New York Pro package was underwhelming so I get it but I don’t know how many times I gotta prove myself. I already solidified that but I don’t mind being the underdog, I don’t mind being counted out. That’s where I thrive the most so come the stage in eight weeks, I guess everyone will see once again.”

Walker is a former top-three finisher on the biggest stage. He has also grabbed titles at the Arnold Classic and New York Pro, where he is a two-time champion. The ultimate goal for Walker is to win the Olympia title and he believes this could be the year.
