Would Phil Heath consider returning to compete at Masters Olympia in the future?
The Masters Olympia is back once again but what will the lineup look like? Bodybuilding legend Phil Heath discussed the show and answered whether he would consider competing at the event at any point.
For those fans waiting for a comeback for Heath, he shared that it will not happen on the Masters Olympia stage.
“I’m not gonna compete. There’s no Masters Olympia for me.”
Heath totaled seven Olympia titles over the course of his career. Just like Ronnie and Jay, Phil Heath had an intense rivalry with Kai Greene. In 2020, he stepped on stage for the what seems to be the final time, but has been active in the gym ever since. During the 2020 show, Heath finished third and fans have been waiting for his return ever since. As of now, Heath is tied with Schwarzenegger with seven Olympia victories.
Phil Heath Talks Masters Olympia, Says He Will Train Kai Green
Phil Heath joined Jay Cutler on Cutler Cast to discuss many topics surrounding the bodybuilding world. This included the recent controversy around the Men’s Physique division. The conversation went into Masters Olympia and Heath explained how the talent is different.
“The talent pool of the like the Levrones, Cormier, Flex then there was a different talent pool of Jay and Dexter. The talent pool right now is just different bodybuilders. You’re not gonna see another Ramy, he’s probably not gonna compete anymore, right.”
Heath also commented on training Kai Greene, which he brought up with a smile. This is not the first time that Heath has made remarks like this.
Recently, Kai Greene teased fans with a video about a potential return. There are no plans as of now but with Masters Olympia returning, this opens the door for a dream matchup of Heath and Greene once again. Greene responded to Heath online claiming that he would be his coach. Now, he has doubled down.
“I might train Kai though. I’d do it. We gotta work on his posing.”
Heath and Greene went head-to-head many times on the Olympia stage. In 2011, Greene finished third at the Olympia and would go on to be the runner-up in the next three. During the 2025 Arnold Sports Festival, there were panels of speakers that ranged from Chris Bumstead to Cutler and Ronnie Coleman. Heath commented on the post and said he could have done one with Greene if he wasn’t “too salty” to sit with him.
The return of Phil Heath might never happen but fans continue to eagerly wait and keep an eye on his status. What we know now is that this return will not be to a Masters Olympia competition.
