Nick Walker remains extremely confident in his ability heading into the 2025 Olympia.
Bodybuilder Nick Walker is officially qualified for the Olympia after his victory at the New York Pro. During a recent appearance on OlympiaTV, Walker was able to look back on the Pittsburgh Pro and discuss the matchup with Derek Lunsford — which he believes he won. Walker also gave his early thoughts on other matchups.
Walker won his third New York Pro title, which punched his ticket to the biggest show of the year. This will be his first Olympia appearance in three years. He was asked about the biggest competition and his answer was Hadi Choopan.
“I’m always going to say Hadi. I think me and Hadi are extremely comparable in every way shape or form. I think if he comes in at 100% and I’m in at 100%, it’s going to be a battle.”
Walker missed the 2023 Olympia as he dealt with a torn hamstring that impacted his preparation for the show. He ended up making his return during the New York Pro and was crowned champion, despite controversy surrounding the final results. He later announced that he would miss the 2024 Olympia as well. Now, his sights are set on the 2025 Olympia.
Nick Walker Believes He Defeated Derek Lunsford
The inaugural Men’s Open competition at the Pittsburgh Pro did not disappoint. Some of the top competitors in the world took the stage, led by the battle between Walker and Lunsford. In the end, Lunsford was crowned champion but Walker believes he did enough to win.
“We can say whatever, I beat Derek so I’m really not worried about that.”
Walker has had time to reflect on the show and has stronger feelings at this point than he did right away.
“I’m never a sore loser. If I know I lost, I accept it, I roll with it, I lost. The way it just went and the way I just dominated and the way I think I pretty much think I beat Derek in all the poses, I thought there was no way I was losing tonight…When they called his name for first, I didn’t think there was anything more I could have done. I felt this sense or anger and disappointment.”
Nick Walker was asked about other threats to the title as well, including Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked. His thoughts on Andrew were simple, claiming that he “never really came close” but he went into greater detail about the reigning champion — citing conditioning.
“Samson is a freak. He’s very overpowering, very big, very round, very bubbly, very muscular. But I’ve also become a lot bigger and more muscular. And I pretty much always out do him in condition. If he doesn’t come in in full condition, I will beat Samson too.”
