Kyle Wilkes further addressed his split with bodybuilder Nick Walker after 2025 Mr. Olympia

The fallout from the 2025 Olympia continues on as Men’s Open bodybuilder Nick Walker‘s old coach Kyle Wilkes has once again made a statement about their split. He originally made a video sharing his side before Walker responded. Now, Wilkes shared another post on social media after being asked about the situation.

“I only want to address this once and since I continue to be asked to speak on it, please see below.”

After withdrawing from the 2024 Olympia, Walker made the decision to work with Kyle Wilkes as his new coach. After yet another Olympia has passed, Walker shared that he will be coaching himself moving forward. This came after his victory during the 2025 New York Pro and second-place finish at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro, where he finished as the runner-up to Derek Lunsford.

Walker recently shared that he was not completely satisfied with the package he brought to both the New York and Pittsburgh shows. For Wilkes, this came as a bit of a surprise.

Kyle Wilkes Talks Prep for New York & Pittsburgh

Kyle Wilkes used IFBB Vice President Tyler Manion as a reference when discussing the looks that Nick Walker built for the competitions. These shows gave Walker plenty of confidence heading into the Olympia before falling down the scorecard.

“I remain fully confident in my abilities and in the work I did with Nick as his Pittsburgh and New York looks spoke for themselves and in my opinion, put him right back into “the conversation” within the IFBB.”

After Walker shared his thoughts on the looks, it came “as news” to Wilkes, who believes there was enough work put in.

“I only wish that had been communicated directly previously, especially considering the amount of time, energy, and commitment I put into his prep and season overall. The reality of the situation is there were a lot of sacrifices made both professionally and personally that Nick commands from his coach.”

Walker was forced to miss the 2023 Olympia after suffering a hamstring tear. He returned to the stage during the 2024 New York Pro and was victorious, punching his ticket to the biggest show of the year once again. Walker received criticism following his victory and would later announce that he decided to sit out of the Olympia once again.

The 2025 Pittsburgh Pro brought the first-ever Men’s Open competition to the event. Nick Walker was one of the headliners, along with Mr. Olympia Derek Lunsford. Walker finished as the runner-up but believed he did enough to win the show. Despite this feeling, he actually was not completely satisfied with his look.

As for Kyle Wilkes, he made one final statement to “speak for the coaches” in bodybuilding. He ended his statement wishing Nick Walker success during his career.

“I sincerely wish Nick nothing but success moving forward. As for me, I will continue focusing on my own path, one that’s already been incredibly fulfilling long before before this partnership ever began. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I am perfectly at peace with that.”
