Nick Walker will get himself in the best shape possible for next season.
It was an up-and-down season for Nick Walker that ended with a performance at the 2025 Olympia that did not live up to expectations. Following the show, both Walker and his then coach Kyle Wilkes, made statements about their split. Over the weekend, Walker shared a new workout video where he laid out his plans to coach himself in 2026.

“So I guess now would be a good time to say that I’m going to do my own coaching. I’m going to do it myself, I know what I’m doing.”
After withdrawing from the 2024 Olympia, Walker made the decision to work with Kyle Wilkes as his new coach. After yet another Olympia has passed, Walker shared that he will be coaching himself moving forward. This came after his victory during the 2025 New York Pro and second-place finish at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro, where he finished as the runner-up to Derek Lunsford.
Walker was busy during the 2025 season and it ended at the Olympia, where he fell further down the scorecard than expected. This led to changes being made after what has been a difficult run over the last few years.

Nick Walker Talks Plan to Coach Himself in 2026

Walker spoke about his feelings about coaches and the belief that he has in himself. While he will continue to train with others and lean on the people closest to him, he will take over his own coaching in order to build the best physique possible for 2026. Walker still has the ultimate goal of winning an Olympia title.
“Of course, I’ll have an eye of close people around me. I’m going to do this myself, I’m tired of coaches. I don’t want anyone around. I know what I need to do, what works and doesn’t work for my body. And you know, it’s already working. We’re going to handle business my way.”
Walker was forced to miss the 2023 Olympia after suffering a hamstring tear. He returned to the stage during the 2024 New York Pro and was victorious, punching his ticket to the biggest show of the year once again. Walker received criticism following his victory and would later announce that he decided to sit out of the Olympia once again.
The 2025 Pittsburgh Pro brought the first-ever Men’s Open competition to the event. Nick Walker was one of the headliners, along with Mr. Olympia Derek Lunsford. Walker finished as the runner-up but believed he did enough to win the show. Despite this feeling, he actually was not completely satisfied with his look. Based on the performances from the entire season as a whole, Walker has decided to make changes with the biggest one being a coach.
