8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman shared a recent health update where he plans to walk on his own in two years.
Ronnie Coleman was as good as there was in the sport of bodybuilding because of his insane drive and power earning him 8x Mr. Olympia championships. Coleman quickly became known for his size and conditioning achieved from countless hours in the gym. His strength was unmatched during his prime. Coleman has dealt with different health issues in retirement but recently shared an update for his fans.
Coleman joined Jay Cutler on Cutler Cast for a conversation. This is where he shared an update on when he plans to walk again.
“I’m giving myself about a year and a half to be walking. Maybe with a cane and then eventually, they can get it to where I can walk without a cane.”
Coleman and Cutler built one of the greatest on-stage rivalries in bodybuilding. The duo combined for 12 Olympia titles and finished in the top two for many years. During his lifetime, Coleman has gone through 13 back surgeries and this has hindered his ability to walk unassisted.
Ronnie Coleman Plans To Walk Again In Two Years
Ronnie Coleman continues to train in the gym while maintaining an incredible social media presence. This is where he has been able to communicate with fans through different videos and Q&As.
Here, Coleman broke down his overall timeline to be able to walk without a cane or walker.
“I’m looking at two years because I remember when I had my neck surgery, the doctors were like ‘it’ll take about two years for the numbness in your hand to go away.’ And about two years to the date, all that numbness went away and strength came back.”

Aside from his work in the gym, Coleman goes through different treatments to get back to full strength.
“I’m thinking in about two years, I think that I’ll be able to regenerate some of those nerves. I’ve been doing stem cells. I do stem cells, like 300 million every five months.”
Ronnie Coleman has been on this journey for years now and has been open about his path to walking again without assistance. The legendary bodybuilder has already made great strides and there is more coming thanks to his stem cell procedures.
“I was in a lot of pain when I first started. Now, my pain levels are like almost, eight, nine somewhere in there and you guys got it all the way down. I found the more I was coming, the better I was getting.”
