Can up-and-comer Carlos Thomas Jr. win the 2023 Olympia?!

Carlos Thomas Jr. is a rising star in bodybuilding and his pro debut has been long awaited. With it finally on the horizon, Thomas Jr. showed off his insane physique during a recent guest posing appearance. He drew comparisons to some of the best in the world and even raised the question, could he win the 2023 Olympia?

Thomas Jr. was victorious during the 2021 NPC National Championships. He earned his Pro Card after winning the overall title. During the competition, he admitted that he weighed 220 pounds the day of the show. This means Thomas Jr. could have competed in any category but chose to show off his physique in super heavyweight.

The bodybuilding world is excited to see what Thomas Jr. can do against some of the other top competitors in the world. In May, he announced that he would be unable to make his debut during the New York Pro. Instead, he is preparing to compete during the Texas Pro in four weeks.

Thomas Jr. appeared as a guest poser over the weekend during the Victor Martinez Legends Championships. He impressed during his routine and showed off insane size and conditioning that drew comparisons to some of the elite in Men’s Open.

Thomas Jr. is not yet qualified for the biggest show of the year but many are questioning whether he can compete for a title right away. He is expected to compete for the Texas Pro title and if he is victorious, Thomas Jr. will also make his debut at the Olympia.

This would follow the footsteps of many young talents in the division. Both Michal Krizo and Andrew Jacked rose to the top quickly and qualified for the Olympia in one year. Derek Lunsford also made the jump from Men’s 212 to Open Bodybuilding and finished as the runner-up to Hadi Choopan in last year’s competition.

After his guest posing appearance, Thomas Jr. has drawn comparisons to both Lunsford and Jacked. There are also some who see a bit of Hunter Labrada after watching Thomas Jr. on stage. If this is the case, Thomas Jr. is an intriguing name to watch in the division.

Carlos Thomas Jr. will be making his debut in four weeks during the Texas Pro. All eyes will be on his routine as he is expected to bring his very best to the stage. If so, he will be difficult to beat and could even make a run at the Olympia title right away.
