Ronnie Coleman’s professional debut took place back in 1991 at the IFBB World Amateur Championships and his first official win as a professional was at the 1995 Canada Pro Cup. Then after his first place win at the Canada Pro Cup, Coleman’s meteoric rise to fame could not be stopped. Though it took him awhile to get to the Mr. Olympia and win it, he dominated it for a good amount of time. He currently holds the record for most wins of the Mr. Olympia title (8 times, tied with Lee Haney) and the most overall wins for any IFBB professional (26 wins).
Coleman recently joined NFL Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe for an interview where the two discussed many topics, from Coleman’s personal history to bodybuilding as a whole, making for quite the interesting episode.
Ronnie Coleman Shares His List Of All-Time Great Bodybuilders
Shannon Sharpe asked Ronnie Coleman for his Mount Rushmore of all-time bodybuilders, meaning who were the greatest of all time in his opinion. Of course, each person will have their own answer and Coleman shared his, and even threw in an extra answer.
“We got Arnold at the top, got Lee Haney in second place. I want to say me third. I got eight Olympias. I’m gonna put old Phil in fourth place since he got seven Olympias. And I guess I’ll put Dorian in since he got six.”
Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney lead the way with eight Olympia titles, which is the most of all-time that a single person has won. After that comes Phil Heath and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who have each see seven wins, while Dorian Yates earned six of his own.
This is a loaded list of bodybuilders that dominated a full generation during their primes, and for good reason. They came to each show with physiques that could not be matched, though many tried.
