Here is a full breakdown from the Mr. Olympia Bodybuilding prejudging from Friday night.
The headliner of the 2024 Olympia began on Friday night with the Men’s Open division taking the stage for the first time. There has been plenty of hype surrounding the Mr. Olympia competition because of the deep group of competitors that will compete. There was a total of six champions crowned on Friday night before the biggest division began prejudging.
All eyes were on the battle between reigning champion Derek Lunsford and 2022 champion Hadi Choopan. They have been viewed as the top contenders for the title once again this year.

The Men’s Open division will be without Nick Walker once again. After missing the 2023 Olympia with a hamstring injury, Walker announced that he will miss the biggest show of the year once again. Michal Krizo will also be sidelined after undergoing shoulder surgery. He will return in 2025.
Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked returned to the stage after top-five finishes last season. As expected, this group led the first callout but judges also brought out Hunter Labrada and Rafael Brandao.
Martin Fitzwater made an impression at the New York Pro and gained momentum into his first Olympia competition. Judges brought Fitzwater out with the first group and he spent time next to Choopan, who was in the center with Lunsford. After the first set of poses, Dauda switched with Lunsford to stand next to Choopan.
After each competitor got a chance in the first three callouts, judges brought back a majority of the first with William Bonac added. This left three athletes remaining for the fifth and final callout — Lunsford, Choopan, and Dauda.
The prejudging in Men’s Open is now complete. Judges put competitors through an intense posing session to get the best comparison that they could. Below, check out the full breakdown of prejudging as the competition begins to shape up ahead of the finals on Saturday night.
