Who Is Jeff Cavaliere?

Jeff Cavaliere is an experienced fitness professional born on June 28, 1975, and he discovered his love for fitness and bodybuilding very young.

Inspiration

In his teen years, Cavaliere loved watching bodybuilders and action stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone and wanted to be like them. However, he admitted that he couldn’t achieve that after seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s physique. So he went for what he felt he could reach: Sylvester Stallone. He says that is his idol and his major inspiration.

Education

During high school, Cavaliere discovered lifting weights was the only way to achieve a really good physique and improve his performance in soccer and baseball. He trained hard to build lean muscle and became good enough to play sports at the highest levels.

“After one summer of consistent workouts, I not only started to see abs, but was finding it easier to get my job done on the field.”

— Jeff Cavaliere

Cavaliere went to the University of Connecticut, where he became a fan of the New York Mets and studied physioneurobiology. He also has a Masters in Physical Therapy. “I grew up an avid Mets fan. I lived and breathed the team and watched every inning of every game all the way through college,” Cavaliere said.

After graduation, Cavaliere opened a small practice to hone his skills. However, his goal was still to be part of the New York Mets’ medical team. When the opportunity came, he became the head of physical therapy at the club. Here is a list of his educational achievements:

  • Strength & Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
  • Bachelors in Physio Neurobiology from the University of Connecticut
  • Physical Therapy Masters Degree from the University of Connecticut

Time with the New York Mets

From 2006 to 2009, Cavaliere was the head physical therapist for his childhood dream team, the New York Mets. He then resigned to become an independent fitness trainer. Cavaliere has authored many training workbooks and often offers tips on maximizing training.

Over the years, Cavaliere grew and became a recognized name, Athlean-X. It has worked with many established names in the bodybuilding and fitness industry.

“I think the thing that separates me from the majority of trainers out there is my physical therapy background.”

— Jeff Cavaliere

Jeff Cavaliere’s Training Routine

Jeff Cavaliere doesn’t like working out for long hours in the gym. He prefers shorter, more intense workouts lasting 45 minutes or less, with at least 15 minutes of conditioning afterward. He uses a similar approach with his clients to help them achieve their body and fitness goals. Here is how Jeff Cavaliere approaches his weekly workouts.

Nutrition

Cavaliere believes what you take in is as essential as your training to achieve a well-sculpted physique. He also adds that to achieve a tighter waist, it’s crucial to have a calorie deficit. “Nutrition is where you always have to responsibly start whenever you’re trying to create a calorie deficit so you can lose body fat,” said Cavaliere.

He also likes introducing natural foods into his diet plan, supporting brain health. Cavaliere eats six meals daily to keep his metabolism up. Some of these foods include:

  • Oatmeal
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Strawberries, Bananas, and Kiwi

Science-Based Approach to Lifting

Cavaliere is all about the science behind building muscle and using proper form to get the most from your exercises. He emphasizes the importance of mind-muscle connection and eccentric and concentric movements, especially when lifting weights. He occasionally refutes improper weightlifting techniques by scientifically demonstrating more effective methods.

A respected figure in the fitness world, Cavaliere has worked with numerous notable names and consistently delivers results that speak for themselves.
