Samson Dauda took home Olympia’s biggest prize in history, $600,000.

Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted the 2024 Olympia over the weekend, celebrating the prestigious competition’s 60th anniversary with surprises. In a fiercely contested event, Samson Dauda emerged as the new champion, narrowly outpacing his rivals Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. Former 2023 Mr. Olympia Derek Lunsford finished in third place, while the 2022 Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan secured the second spot. Alongside the prize money and surprising retirements, this anniversary edition is one for the books.

The Mr. Olympia prize money has increased from $400,000 to a whopping $600,000, surpassing the $500,000 offered by the Arnold Classic for their winner next year. For more details on the prize earnings for each category and other exciting news from the Olympia weekend, check out this post.

This year featured 11 competitive divisions, with six returning champions successfully defending their titles. Below is the complete list of divisions showcased at this year’s Olympia:

  • Mr. Olympia (Men’s Open)

  • Men’s Physique Olympia
  • Ms. Olympia (Women’s Bodybuilding)
  • Figure Olympia
  • Fitness Olympia
  • Women’s Physique Olympia
