Larry Wheels joined former Olympia champ Breon Ansley for a bodybuilding arm workout during his journey.

Larry Wheels is healthy and back in the gym following his Rhabdo diagnosis. He continues to work toward his goal of competing in bodybuilding in the Classic Physique division. Recently, Wheels joined former Olympia champion Breon Ansley for an arm workout.

Wheels was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with Rhabdo. He shared many health updates over the course of his career, including when he began getting his health checked by doctors. After using different steroids for over a decade, Wheels decided to ween off gear and begin using testosterone replacement therapy. This was no different. Wheels shared that he has been back in the gym and his strength is back to normal.

The powerlifter, strongman and bodybuilder burst onto the scene because of his insane size and feats of strength in powerlifting. During his career, he also dabbled in bodybuilding and arm wrestling. In 2018, Wheels made his bodybuilding debut by competing in the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic, where he won gold. Now, a return could be on the horizon after a successful run in many other fitness ventures.

Ansley is in the midst of a decision of his own. Initially, the former Classic Physique champion announced that he would be making a move to Men’s 212. That plan could change after the IFBB changed weight restrictions in Classic. Ansley won back-to-back Olympia titles in 2017-18 and solidified himself as one of the best in the division around the world.

Breon Ansley & Larry Wheels Arm Workout

Standing Dumbbell Curls

The workout began with the duo hitting standing dumbbell curls for biceps. They discussed bodyweight and overall body fat at this point of preparation. Ansley is 16 weeks out from hitting the Olympia stage.

“Bodyweight, 224-225. Body fat, again I’m 16 weeks out of the Olympia. I better not be over 10%. If I’m over 10, ‘Breon, you got some work to do. You better go do some cardio,” Ansley said.

Machine Preacher Curls

The next exercise would be machine preacher curls. Before hitting the sets, Ansley asked Wheels about his plan to compete in bodybuilding. According to Larry Wheels, he wants to time it up with his new gym opening.

“We’re looking to do the show, we’re trying to time it right in the middle of the gym opening. So, it would be like 1-2 months out from the show from the gym opening,” Wheels said.

Trying to get as much information as possible, Breon Ansley asked when the gym would open. Wheels has an idea in his head for when it could be complete next year.

“We’re looking at November 1. That’s just a rough estimate. Don’t hold us to that but we’re looking at November 1.”

Overhead Cable Curls

The workout continues with overhead cable curls. The bodybuilders wanted to hit arms from many angles in order to work every muscles possible.

Overhead Cable Triceps Extensions

The workout concluded with tricep workouts that included overhead cable tricep extensions. The purpose of this workout was to lift heavy and build endurance. This is something Wheels was impressed with watching Ansley hit each exercise.

“That’s what I am trying to improve. Strength endurance and muscle endurance. Once ou improve on those, man, performance can only improve but lead to the look,” Ansley said.

The workout ended with Breon Ansley taking Larry Wheels through some bodybuilding poses.
